Grace Thyme Daily Bread

A place for us to keep track of our meals, groceries (food only) and recipes. We may work for, shop for, pay for, and prepare these meals, but it is only because of God's Generous Grace that we are able to do so.

I wasn't able to post this during the weekend.

Mr Darling and I shared a pot of caffeinated coffee.
He takes his black and unsweetened.
I take mine black with a pinch of powdered stevia.

Mr. Darling's lunch bag contained:
a container of steak and red rind cheese sticks
a container of 8 peanut butter cracker sandwiches
a container of 13 unwrapped Hershey Kisses

For Breakfast
Mr Darling: Scrambled eggs, Sausage links, Grilled red rind cheese sandwich and 8 oz. OJ
Tinkerbell and Young Mr.: Scrambled eggs and Sausage links
Me: Sunny-side up egg and Steak
Grand Mr. was here and he had sausage links (he doesn't like eggs)

Lunch
Hebrew Nationals hot dogs (some boiled and some fried)
Tater Tots (oven)
Okra (oven-fried)
Optionals: mustard, catsup, and loaf bread

At the table: Grand Mr; Young Mr; Tinkerbell; Twinklebell (friend) and me.

Supper
Mr. Darling treated us to a night at Arby's.

Mr Darling and I shared a pot of de-caffeinated coffee.
He takes his black and unsweetened.
I take mine black with a pinch of powdered stevia

Side note: Before we ate my blood sugar was 78mg/dl. I injected too much meal-time insulin and went too low (47 mg/dl). A lot of diabetics eat some sort of candy/cookie/cake or drink juice or some other sugary beverage.
I used to, but I have learned that that will shoot me too high and then drop me again. So I chose to eat a small meal. LOL
Here's what I ate to raise my blood sugar but slowly:
I reheated a piece of baked chicken breast, took a slice of cheddar cheese and used romaine lettuce as a wrap. I also ate pork rinds.
Within an hour or so my blood sugar had raised to 72mg/dl by morning it was 115mg/dl.

We each had 2 burgers each wrapped in romaine lettuce. He had catsup and mustard with his. I enjoyed mustard with mine. We each had a dish of leftover steamed broccoli with melted real butter (not margarine), and sea salt. yum!

01/14/10

I thought I clicked the button to publish this on the 14th, but today realize I clicked the wrong button. Oops! I'm still learning how this works. *smile*

Our Daily Bread

At Grace Thyme Cottage, we enjoy different foods. We enjoy having the freedom to pick, choose and eat what we desire. We have taken to heart those words of Jesus. Do not worry about what you will eat or drink. We decided in 2008 to stop worrying about the amount of calories, fat, sodium, carbs in our daily bread. We eat and give thanks.

*Breakfast:

Mr. Darling: a fried egg, 1½ slices bacon and a piece of bread lightly toasted with butter in a cast iron skillet. He also had a cold glass of orange juice.

Tinkerbell: a simple scrambled egg and 1½ slices of bacon.

Young Mr: a fried egg, 1½ slices bacon and a piece of bread lightly toasted with butter in a cast iron skillet. He did not have orange juice.

And I had a fried egg and a slice of cold ham.

Mr. and I shared a pot of coffee this morning. He takes his black, unsweetened. I enjoy mine black and sweetened with a pinch or two of powdered Stevia.

** Lunch:

I ate re-heated baked chicken thigh and broccoli.
Tinkerbell had a peanut butter sandwich. She just wanted a little something as she will be hanging out with friends this afternoon.
Young Mr. had some of the baked ham.

Mr. had in his lunch bag: a fried boneless pork loin chop and sliced red rind cheese. He eats no bread with this.
However, during his breaks he has a container with "peanut butter cracker sandwiches." These are two crackers with peanut butter spread between them. He takes 8 of those.

A treat for Mr. a container of Chips Ahoy mini chocolate chip cookies were tucked into his lunch bag.

I do not make it a habit of buying this. We only have them, because Young Mr. used to ask for them. I would say NO!

Then one day I said, Sure! On the way home he wanted them. I explained to him that they were not in the vehicle where they could be reached and he'd have to wait until we got home. When we did get home I put them into the cabinet. He never asked for them again and I didn't volunteer them to him. For about a month this happened every time we went to Wal-Mart, which was once a week. We waited to see if Young Mr. would ask for them, but he hasn't. So I have been sending them with Mr in his lunch bag. Oh and he no longer ask for the chips ahoy mini chocolate chip cookies there in the checkout lane. Mr. has one/two more containers.

BTW, You can find these in Wal-Mart's check out lane for $1.

***Supper:

Mr: hamburger with catsup and mustard, tater tots with catsup and oven fried asparagus spears.
I had a plain hamburger and oven-fried asparagus spears. Like a hamburger steak with no gravy.
Young Mr. had a burger and tater tots with catsup. He does not eat asparagus.
Tinkerbell and a friend went to see Sherlock Holmes then ate at McDonald's afterward.

Mr. and I share coffee after supper. Once again his is black and unsweetened. Mine is black and sweetened with stevia. The difference is the Sam's Choice Organic Blend Decaffeinated medium roast, swiss water processed. It comes in a 10 oz package and cost $6.

We are His little children, fed daily by a loving, generous Abba. He has fed us with abundance. We rest tonight filled His amazing Grace. We bow heads and give thanks to Him who provides.

Every thing is Grace.
Paula
